Get Aronra to the Global Atheist Convention

Almost there already
After launching this small campaign less than a week ago, I am pleased to report we have already raised 85% of the funds required. It seems clear the Youtube community appreciate Aronâ??s contribution.

I have purchased tickets and the dinner for the convention on the strength of this initial response. I also note Aron has featured my promotional video on his Youtube account, so I donâ??t think it will be long before we reach our goal.

After looking at accommodation costs, they are a little more expensive than I first thought, and I Aron will be staying a few more days than anticipated. In order to adjust for this, I have increased the chip goal by $500. Again, any excess will be donated toward Doctors without Borders.

What is this about?
On the 13th to 15th of April 2012, the Atheist Foundation of Australiawill hold its second Global Atheist Convention. A number of high profile celebrities have already been confirmed for the event, including:

- Richard Dawkins
- Sam Harris
- Dan Dennett
- Christopher Hitchens
- PZ Myers
- Dan Barker
- Lawrence Krauss
- Annie Laurie Gaylor
- Eugenie Scott
- and many more

But there is one notable celebrity who is not on this list - Aronra.

I have spoken with Aron, who has enthusiastically expressed his desire to attend the convention in Melbourne Australia. Unfortunately, being a poor atheist he does not have funds for a journey to the antipodes.

This is my response.

I am calling on the community to help Aron get to Australia for the biggest and best Atheist Convention seen so far. If each of his Youtube subscribers donated 5 cents, we could easily fund flights, accommodation, tickets, and transport for the entire event. Thatâ??s not too much to ask.

I am sure Aron would even make a number of awesome videos about the event for you to enjoy. In fact, I will make sure he does.

Now some house keeping.

1) If for some reason we do not meet the target, then I propose the entire amount be donated to Doctors Without Borders.

2) Any excess funds will also be donated to Doctors Without Borders.

So there you have it.
